Week ending October 31, 2019

Foods 6 - Continuing on with our look at eggs from last week, students were in the kitchen and used the hard boiled eggs that we made last week to make egg salad sandwiches.

Simple Egg Salad Sandwiches

Students also began investigation on a small project that focuses on learning about some of the food borne illnesses that exist and will use their information to make a wanted poster.
Information for this project and examples can be found at: d2l.cbe.ab.ca

Foods 7 - Because of the short week and the Halloween carnival, students did not get into the kitchen this week. We will be in the kitchen both periods next week where we will be following up on our egg research by making egg salad sandwiches and fried egg sandwiches.
Students continue to work on food projects in class, such as the cooking show summary project that was reviewed in class this week through the viewing of an episode of Iron Chef America.

Foods 6 and 7 - This week we explored the differences in eggs and whether or not there is a taste difference after making hard boiled eggs in preparation for our recipe next week. Students were able to sample a variety of eggs and tried to determine if there was in fact a difference in taste.
